For me, fitness has been a life long passion. From being a multi-sport high school athlete to the starting fullback for the Ohio State University (2004 – 2006), I constantly attempted to push my body to it limits. After my professional football career ended abruptly by injury, I spent the next couple of years trying to fit in a few workouts a week around an 80 hour work week in investment banking.
In 2010, my perception of being “fit” was challenged when I decided to give a CrossFit workout a try because I only had about 15 minutes before rushing off to work. Needless to say, my first CrossFit workout was a humbling experience. Since then I have re-defined my view of fitness, completely changed my eating habits, and passionately pursued a well rounded, inclusive kind of fitness. CrossFit allows me to excel in the things I’m naturally good at, like lifting, and become competent at the things I used to struggle at, like gymnastics movements. I am stronger, have better endurance and general fitness now than when I was playing in the NFL.
My favorite part of CrossFit is helping other people drastically improve their lives by getting plugged into a positive community. At Outsiders CrossFit, my wife Jessica and I strive to create an atmosphere of courage, commitment, and community. We have no mirrors, no egos, and no empty promises. Our only guarantee is that your results will be well earned by your hard work (there is no substitute). When you walk through our doors, you’ll become a part of our family. We expect hard work and perseverance from all of our athletes, and you can expect the same from us!
