When I think back to jobs I have held in my life, the ones I have enjoyed the most combine two of the things I am most passionate about: helping people and sports. Over the years I have had the pleasure of holding the positions of Head Swim Coach, Personal Trainer, Aquatic Director, 14 years as a Swim Instructor, Vet Tech, as well as 8 years as a lifeguard/Sergeant on the Ocean City Beach Patrol. I have been able to cross off my list of personal challenges: marathon, triathlons, adventure races, surfing and Division 1 track/cross country athlete. In addition to all of that, I am a mom of three amazing boys, and somehow it has all led me here…to coaching CrossFit!
I have always had a vision in my head of what the “perfect” workout should be, but was never sure how to implement it into my workout routine. When CrossFit made its grand entrance into my life, I knew this was what I had been dreaming of! Each day is a new challenge and a new opportunity to be better than yesterday and I get to come to my favorite place, workout with my favorite people, and leave the gym feeling like I really accomplished something each day!
As much as I adore a great workout, I also enjoy coaching our athletes. CrossFit’s benefits go way beyond working out to “look good”, it instills confidence and character. I love to see new people walk in our door because I can’t wait to see how CrossFit will transform their lives!
I started the CrossFit kids program at Outsiders about 10 years ago and I am passionate about getting kids excited about working out. I believe that learning to be healthy at a young age is one of the greatest gifts you can give children. Parents being in charge of their own health is a great gift to themselves (and their kids!)
