Congrats to our February Featured Athlete, Dana Beziat! Read her story below:

1. What was your fitness background prior to joining Outsiders?

I have belonged to a gym most of my adult life and worked out 4-5 times a week doing Spin, body pump, TRX classes and assorted weight machines and cardio.  I stopped working out about 5 years ago when I was put on bed rest during my first pregnancy.  Baby number 2 followed 14 months later and I kept putting off going back to the gym because I thought I should be home more with my kids and just didn't think there was time to fit it in.  I finally decided I missed the gym and was not happy with my weight gain over the years so I rejoined a regular gym last April.

2. When did you first start at Outsiders?

I found some of the classes at the gym boring and was not getting the results I was hoping for.  My friend Devon Troop kept telling me how much she enjoyed crossfit and what a great place Outsiders was.  In July of last year I gave it a try for a month and was hooked!

3. What were your thoughts after your first workout?

My thoughts about the first workout were that I couldn't believe I worked so hard in just 8 minutes!  

4. What is your favorite thing about Outsiders CrossFit?

 My favorite thing about Outsiders are the people!  The coaches are knowledgeable, supportive, and helpful.  Other gym members are also supportive and everyone is always encouraging each other to do their best and get to the next level or just to make it to the end of a tough workout.  We have so much fun!

5. What is one goal that you have this year?

I have three goals I hope to accomplish by my one year anniversary... T2B, kipping pull-ups, and consistent DUs.

6. What is one piece of advice that you would give someone considering Outsiders CrossFit or a new CrossFitter?

Anyone can do crossfit.  Everything can be scaled for success and it's fun to challenge yourself and continue improving.

7. What do you see as your greatest improvement as well as some other results from doing CrossFit?

 My greatest improvement would be that I feel really good!  Every morning when I am finished the work out I feel like I have already accomplished something that day.  I have lots of extra energy during the day, which helps me be a better wife, mom, and teacher.
