CrossFit is a program developed to offer a full-body workout that combines elements of cardio, weight lifting, gymnastics, core training and more to prepare the body for anything. No matter if you are a stay at home mom, a former competitive athlete or a grandparent, CrossFit’s main principles can be adjusted to fit your needs.
This fitness regimen was developed over the last several decades and is the first program to define fitness in a meaningful, measurable way (increased work capacity across broad time and modal domains). CrossFit itself is defined as that which optimizes fitness (constantly varied functional movements performed at relatively (to each individual) high intensity). CrossFit is also a community of people who have decided to work hard together to make positive changes in their lives.
This whole body workout is extremely varied day to day and is all about getting the most bang for your buck each workout. Classes last about an hour and feel more like team practice than going to the gym.
