As a child, I always felt smaller and less athletic than the other kids. I lacked the patience for baseball and the fortitude for football. While I outwardly embraced my bookish lifestyle, I was often bothered by what I perceived as a one-dimensional quality to my life.

In high school, I found wrestling. I channeled my love of reading and information to learn everything I could about exercise, and I found that I was no longer so one-dimensional. In fact, I was one of the most dedicated--if not accomplished--gymrats in my class.

While I did not wrestle in college, I missed the intensity and exhaustion from those workouts. This brought me to CrossFit. I'm fascinated with the fundamentals of good quality movement and an evangelist for the benefits of high intensity exercise. Stan, Jess, and the community at Outsiders have given me the opportunity to stay close to that passion every day despite an otherwise busy lifestyle, and for that I couldn't be more grateful.
