November Athlete of the Month - Lakshmi Hirpara

Congrats to Lakshmi, one of the coolest, sweetest girls you will ever meet and our November Athlete of the Month! We are proud of all of the hardwork you have put toward your health and fitness in the last few years and we absolutely love having you at Outsiders.
1.Were you active prior to CrossFit?
I had played lacrosse for 6 years before I started.
2. When did you first start doing CrossFit?
I started Crossfit in the summer of 2013, before my sophomore year.
3. What were your thoughts after your first workout?
I am pretty sure I was thinking of how to get up after my first workout, but overall I thought it was challenging!
4. What do you enjoy the most about CrossFit?
I love how its a new different workout everyday and how everyone motivates you to do your best!
5. What were your goals when you first started?
What are they now?
When I first started my goal was to do a proper pull up! Now its to try to push myself further everyday.
6. What is your favorite CrossFit movement?
My favorite movement has to be Power Cleans.
7. What is your least favorite movement?
Does running count?
8. What is one tip you would give someone considering CrossFit or a new CrossFitter?
My tip would be to not be afraid to try something new, and focus on your form rather than how much weight you put on.
9.Talk about your results from doing CrossFit?
Before I started, I would have never have thought to do half the things I do now. I probably would have never climbed a rope, never thought of getting my toes from a bar, or even been able to do a kipping pull-up. I have definitely gotten stronger since I first started and way more motivated to do better to improve! I never really was a fan of working out but ever since joining, I have been more motivated than ever!
